A fishing trawler in the Sea of Japan was sunk after being struck by (drum roll, please) a cow.  As the story goes a Russian air force crewmember brought a cow along on a long flight --- and, in the cargo hold, the cow went berserk. The crew's solution?  They pushed it out of the plane at 30,000 feet over the Sea of Japan. Dave Strege, Orange County Register

A surf fisherman on an Outer Banks beach in North Carolina reeled in a small fish and was amazed when a giant yellowfin tuna followed it in.  Unfortunately for the fish, the wave receded and it was beached.  Fortunately for the angler, he grabbed the 116 pound tuna by the tail and enjoyed enough sashimi to feed an entire neighborhood.  Dave Strege, Orange County Register
