TALL SHIPS 2005!

With the Tall Ships celebration of 2005, TYC was called upon to perform critical functions that resulted in a tremendously successful and historical event for Tacoma and it's rich maritime heritage.  In addition to hosting a reception for the captains of the foreign and national vessels, TYC members were called upon to aide in transport of participants to and from the various ships, as well as sequencing the release of the vessels from Quartermaster Harbor. Magnificent sailing vessels from Russia, Mexico, and New Zealand graced our waters of Puget Sound. Joining these foreign vessels were a variety of local and distant vessels. Red Jacket and the Lady Washington to name two. Click on the thumbs below for larger size photographs.
