2006 Summer Vashon Race - Saturday June 24th.
NOTICE OF RACE
The Tacoma Yacht Club invites you to our 37th running of the annual Summer Vashon Race. New for 2006, double-handed classes are offered for flying sails and non-flying sails yachts, in addition to the cruising and racing classes. We promise you an enjoyable and challenging race with an equally enjoyable party afterwards with a light meal including beer and wine for a nominal fee.

Course |
Start off Tacoma YC, sail around Vashon Island in a clockwise direction, and return to start/finish line at TYC. Race may be shortened to finished at the N. Vashon turning mark due to wind conditions at the Race Committee’s discretion |
Eligibility Requirements |
Must be a current PHRF-NW member, have a current PHRF rating (cruising class boats may apply for a temporary rating from the club handicapper), and belong to a PIYA affiliated yacht club |

class start: 8:00 AM Double Handed (NFS & FS) 8:30 AM Racing classes will use a reverse starting order, with the highest PHRF rated class starting at 9:00 AM., and the next at 9:15 AM. Class breaks and exact starting times will be posted in the TYC clubhouse by 8:00 PM Friday, the 23rd. |

In consideration for participating in this event, I represent to its organizers that my yacht has liability insurance currently in effect, covering property damage, personal injury, and death in an amount not less that $300,000 per occurrence, and that the policy covers yacht racing activities. I acknowledge that the decision to enter my yacht and participate in this race is solely my own, and I agree to be bound by the Racing Rules of Sailing adopted by US Sailing, including national prescriptions, except as modified by the VTS Rules, the organizers, and the Notice of Race for this event. I shall monitor VHF channel 14 when in the vicinity of and while occupying the VTS lanes.
